Clare County Council COVID-19 service update

25 March 2020

Clare County Council has confirmed it will continue to make public services as accessible as possible during the ongoing international health crisis.

Following the government’s announcement of new measures to minimise the spread of COVID-19, members of the public requiring assistance relating to a local authority service are requested to contact Clare County Council by phone (065-6821616) or email (customerservices@clarecoco.ie) between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

"On the advice of the Department of Health and the HSE we are taking actions we believe are appropriate to minimise the spread of the virus while at the same time, continuing to make key public services as accessible as possible.  Our priority at all times is to make every effort to protect public health while maintaining essential services," stated Pat Dowling, Chief Executive of Clare County Council.

He continued, "Clare County Council is facilitating remote working arrangements for staff, where possible.  For staff required to work in council facilities, flexible arrangements have been put in place to ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and social distancing requirements."

"I want to express my gratitude to council staff for ensuring a continuity of service across our key operations," added Mr. Dowling.

Meanwhile, Clare County Council has confirmed that local authority managed carparking facilities at amenity sites, including beaches and public parks, have been closed to the public until further notice in an effort to reduce large gatherings at such locations.
